Daniel Radcliffe ‘I’ll probably NEVER see Harry Potter
Two years ago, the eighth Harry Potter story debuted in the West End as a a two-part play. Consistently sold out, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has now opened on Broadway. And while some stars like Emma Watson have managed to see the show, Radcliffe himself hasn’t managed to and doesn’t ever intend to.
The 29-year-old said: “I always give a really boring, terrible answer.
“I’m probably not going to see it, I don’t have plans to.
“Not because I think it would throw me into some sort of existential crisis of like, ‘Oh, is that what happened?’”
“It would not be a relaxing evening. I feel like I would be being watched for my reaction.”
Radcliffe added: “And maybe that’s completely conceited and egotistical, and people wouldn’t care…but I do feel, like, if I was just surrounded by Harry Potter fans…it would be a little odd.”
When Meyers suggested he wear a disguise, the actor wasn’t convinced.
He replied: “The thing about a disguise is that if it stops working, then you’re just a dude who wore a disguise.”
Radcliffe said: “I feel like I want to see the show. I am genuinely intrigued and I’ve heard it’s fantastic.”
“But I just feel sitting in an audience of what will for the most of the near future be very enthusiastic Harry Potter fans might be like not a relaxing way to see a show,”
Hopefully, when’s a bit older Radcliffe might change his mind.
Nevertheless, he could always play an older Harry in a film version of the play one day.
