Growth and weight
It is normal for newborns to lose up to ten percent of their body weight in the days immediately after birth. But only in the following one or two weeks they can put that weight back on again. To be certain if your baby weight is in normal and healthy limits, your chosen healthcare provider will keep track of your baby weight. The information about your baby weight loss or gain is kept in the baby’s medical chart.
Weight is not a problem or cause for concern accepts there are some complications like distress or lethargy or bad child care. But that doesn’t mean keeping track of your babies weight is not useful, you can do this to track his growth. Babies usually have growth spurts at around 6 and 12 weeks, when they wake more at night for feedings and take more food during the day.
