Sprawling Scottish Estate Lists for £4.35 Million
A 35-acre estate along the southern border of the Scottish Highlands has been listed for £4.35 million (US$5.65 million).
The Perthshire, Scotland, property, is divided into three lots and can be bought either as a whole or individually, according to the listing with Nick Ainscough of Rettie & Co. brokerage firm. Mr. Ainscough was not available for comment.
Located in the town of Dunkeld, the Scottish estate, which hit the market on April 5, has sweeping southern views across the River Tay toward Murthly Castle.
Two driveways lead to the estate’s main dwelling, Stenton House, a dressed stone Victorian country house that has been renovated and updated to modern standards since the current owners bought the home in 2010.
Mansion Global was not able to identify the owners or how much they paid for the property. Inside the 12,129-square-foot residence are seven bedrooms, six bathrooms and four reception rooms. Outside, a large garage structure, which was added in 2016, houses a home gym and enough parking space for up to 10 cars, according to the listing.
The grounds of the Stenton House lot also contain a resurfaced tennis court and extensive gardens.
The estate lies on the north bank of the River Tay, known for its salmon fishing. The property’s second lot includes a half-mile of the river bank and former mill building named the Old Mill. According to the listing, permission has been granted to remodel the Old Mill as a two-bedroom cottage.
The third available lot is a small group of buildings that has been dubbed the Stables.
Adding up to 3,000 square feet, the Stables includes a three-bedroom cottage, a smaller one-bedroom cottage, and two other structures.
