Help me choose the right flow rate and style........

Thinkbaby now offers two different styles of flow rates. We have created the chart below to help you better make decisions relating to the style and flow rate that best suits your little one. We have found that most parents are wildly confused on why companies offer multiple versions of nipples. So we thought to explain the difference between Cross Cut vs. Slow Flow.

What size do I need?

All children feed at different rates, so you may find that your child requires greater or possibly slower rates than what we recommend. All feeding systems on the market are different. Moving from one company’s feeding system to another may require some experimentation. We have consulted with lactation specialists and parents across the country to identify the suggested guidelines.

Product Suggested Age Ranges:

Thinkbaby Single Hole Slow Flow 0 months to 3 months
Thinkbaby Cross-Cut Stage A 0- 6 months
Thinkbaby Cross-Cut Stage B 6-12 months to one year

Difference between Cross-Cut design and Single Hole:

New Cross Cut - The cross cut version allows your child to determine when they are ready to feed. By gently applying pressure to the nipple, the cross cut opens to allow the flow of fluid. We have found that this design also minimizes fluid coming out when the bottle is held upside down and is best suited for travel. Numbers on the nipple correspond to testing. Both sizes of baby bottles come outfitted with cross-cut nipples.

Single Hole Nipples- The single hole flow allows for a continuous flow of liquid. It is available in Level 0 Extra Slow Flow.

Thinkbaby also recommends not overtightening the collar of the bottle, as this will restrict airflow back into the bottle.

* The flow rates and age ranges are suggested ranges. Parent’s will have to best determine the desired feeding rate of their little ones. Your child’s consumption rates differ by needing more or less than the suggested range.

A note for any type of silicone nipples used. Silicone nipples are designed to last 2 to 3 months. They should be discarded if they show signs of wear and tear. Never give the nipple to a baby as a play toy. Always supervise your child during feeding.
